12 of 12 May 2010

I first saw this on Brian's blog and then went to Untitled Chad Darnell Project who started 12 of 12 .  I still have a bit of jet lag as I have only been home from Japan for 2 days.  For photos of the trip click here .  I ran some errands and then went to Skot's for dinner.  Any way, here is 12 of 12 for May 2010.

Here is a photo of Sassy while I worked on the PC this morning.  There will be no more photos of Yuli as she passed away while I was in Japan.  You can see that story and photos from her last day here .

I went with Skot up to the zoo.  He is looking to go back there to work in the educational show department.  This is a fish pond by the parking area.

The pond has koi, turtles, and plecostomus like this one.

I was there for a while as Skot worked on getting a job.  He should find out in a day or two.

Next we went to Lowe's where I got a couple of items, not these though.  There are items from Japan.  A model bullet train the same model we rode, a monkey shrine bell, and a model to display.

This is the side of the box which I thought was of cool.

Wasabi nuts which taste great and I think have a pretty cool looking package.

At Lowe's got this bleeding heart plant to put at Yuli's grave.

I also got this garden statue which I changed to personalize for Yuli.

Went to Skot's for dinner and took a photo of this sunflower in his back yard.  I took two shots, one with flash and one without.  I like how different they are.

I played with his dog V for a while.

So sorry that you have lost your Yuli. Our puppies are like the children that Diame and I never had together. Your tribute is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so sorry about Yuli. Losing a pet under any circumstances is so difficult, but I know not being there had to make it that much worse for you.

I always enjoy your 12 of 12s, and I really liked the sunflower with and without flash. I tend to do that with my photos as well, and then try to figure out which one I like best. I like the idea of using them both.

Hey Dan, I'm so sorry about Yuli, reading that post was simply heartbreaking, not a dry eye in our house either
Sorry your Japan trip was soured somewhat by that but the photos look lovely. And a great 12 of course, sunflower looks really nice, my favourite flower.

I'm sending you some good luck vibes from across the sea, hope you get a job sorted this week

The fish is gorgeous, Sassy is looking fine but maybe a bid lonely???, and the bleeding heart couldn't be any more appropriate for Yuli. Sending you condolence hugs.

I like your souvenirs of Japan - personal things that mean something to you. And the plant for Yuli is lovely - something to always remember her by.

I'm a little late with my comments but I missed posting last month 12 of 12 myself and i'm just catching up tonight with everyone else before I do my photos for June 12 of 12. Anyway, I really liked your pictures. I especially like the one with the palm trees and the school bus. I think it's cool the way they are growing Thanks for sharing and I look forward to June's photos which won't be that long of a wait
