Esophagogastroduodenoscopy

I've had a couple of doctors appointments as I've really not felt well since November of last year.  So today I had an appointment with a specialist and my copay with my insurance was a freaking $247.  Anyway, they have to do an esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy on April 10th.  The good news is that all my other test like blood tests and everything else has all come back good.  Nothing wrong with the organs, no high cholesterol, good blood sugar, etc.  So, the doctor said for someone young like me it is unlikely to be cancer but the only way to get closer to what is wrong to do the procedures.

They are going to knock me out and then do each procedure.  They will be taking tissue samples from my stomach and instestines.  I'm pretty healthy normally and I've never been under (knocked out) before so I am a little nervous, but I know everything will be OK.  I'm just looking forward to being able to eat again.  I've been unable to enjoy eating for months.  Every time I do it is very uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful experience.  In the end I bet it all comes down to stress.

My blog posts may not be as regular as normal until this is all done but I'll do my best.

Your symptoms sound a lot like Irritable Bowel Syndrome actually. And stress often triggers it. Did the doctor mention it? I have IBS.

I'm glad they are doing those procedures next month. It is good to check things out just to be safe.
