It's A Wonderful Time Of The Year
I love this time of year when we get the ever so rare Gulf of Mexico South Florida Sea Fog. They are calling for sea fog tomorrow. It is the coolest thing to watch. When I worked downtown (Naples) I would watch it come creeping down the avenues. The avenues run West to East so they lead to the beach. It starts with little wisps of white and then slowly the streets are enveloped. I love to walk through the fog. I love thick, cool, scary, fog. There is something about it that just freaking excites me. So tomorrow, I hop for the sea fog that we only get once or twice a year. I have to drive to Tampa tomorrow so we'll see how I feel about sea fog on the Skyway Bridge. This bridge freaks me out and I remember once driving through and then above the fog and it was so cool and freaky to drive back down into it like I was descending into the unknown.

There are several factors affecting the formation of sea fog... The temperature-dew point spread is one of them, but wind speed and direction, and cloud cover are also considerations... Usually it is a combination of those parameters that is a determinant whether the fog will form or not.

Very cool! I don't see fog very often either.
