The Hillary E-mail

I did something yesterday that I've never done before.  I joined the Hillary Clinton Web site in support of her bid for the 2008 Presidential Election.  I made a small donation to her campaign and completed a form and sent an e-mail to all my contacts to see if they would like to join.  It is out of character for me to that but here is what I was thinking.

I listen to NPR on the way home from work.  I like the news stories and the perspective they give them.  The other day they did a story on how with the early primaries now is the time that the candidates have to act.  They talked about how much money it will take.

I am an independent, neither Democrat or Republican.  However, I can't handle the idea of the current people in power staying in power.  Our current administration of republicans that were in power have mislead us, lied to us, and made us disliked by more countries than any other time in history.  They started an unjust war, weakened the laws to protect the environment, kissed the ass of big oil, and are simply dishonest.  They have divided our nation and tried to make us a Christian nation when our founders knew that religion could be a divisive and dangerous thing and should be kept out of the government.  They are out of touch with the diverse fabrics that make up the weave of our society.  They have no room for a family that does not meet their narrow minded views (ie: gays should not be allowed to marry).

I look at the people from the other side.  Barak Obama I don't think has enough experience to lead our country.  I don't think that enough people would vote for him because he is black.  I think that is wrong, as the color of your skin nor your gender should make a difference.  However, I think that too many Americans sadly have subconscious race issues.  I like John Edwards and would love to see him partner with Obama or Clinton on one ticket.  I would vote for Obama, Edwards, or Clinton over any Republican candidate.

The Republicans scare me.  I look at McCain as total flip-flopper who was strong and independent and at one time could have earned my vote, but now is kissing Bushs' ass and the ass of the Christian Right.  Mitt Romney is a Mormon and plain and simply that is one whacked religious cult.  If you don't know anything about Mormonism do the research.  Rudolph Giuliani is corrupt and inexperienced to lead the country.

That brings me to my current choice of Clinton.  I think she is strong, intelligent, and now a proved leader.  Is she perfect?  Hell no.  None of us are.  However, I still think she is our best choice to lead us out of the dark ages brought on by Bush.
