The Eagle Has Landed

The other night I was at my friends Tish's house for her boyfriend's birthday party.  Tish is part of my Florida adopted Cuban family.  Tish use to do a huge Christmas Eve party every year.  A couple of years ago Wally had a really bad stroke and they have not had a party there since.

Tish's house is a stilt home built in the Key West style.  It's on a great lot on the inter coastal with direct access to the Gulf.  On the other side of the water is a nature preserve.  There is a pair of Eagles that live there.  The other night I was watching the male and female perform their mating rituals.  It was so cool to watch and I'm so glad they are still there.  That pair of eagles has been there and nested there for at least the last 6 or so years.  It is so cool to watch these beautiful and majestic birds that were on the verge of extinction fly right over you.
