State of the Union

I am watching President Bushs' State of the Union address.  I do so because I should.  It's hard though.   I can't stand to hear the President speak.  He has proven to be a liar, beyond what is normal in politics.  He is just plain not smart but he is stubborn and arrogant.  On top of that he is surrounded by people that are simply evil, like Dick Chaney and Condoleezza Rice.  They are the evil brains behind the President.

The thing about the state of the union is that it's just political chest pounding.  There is no real substance to me.  It's all these words most of which I don't believe because of my lack of trust in our current leadership.  Then there is all the applause.  It's so politically charged and a waste of time.  The meaningless speech would go much faster if it were not for this politicized practice.  If it is truly a state of the union address then lets have a 30 minuet update on the state of the union.  Through out the numbers and the facts (not that they too are not skewed by politics) and move on.

President Bush is now talking about the war on terror.  I have such a hard time with him.  He is a horrible world leader.  He has done nothing to bring peace to the Middle East.  He has only escalated the violence and made even more people dislike the USA.  Our President and his staff think that they can operate outside of the word of law, outside the Constitution of the US, and do whatever they think is "right" in the name of their war on terror.  The do more in inspire fear in the American people than they do to make us feel safe.

Iraq is simply wrong.  We should never have gone there and it will never work as our stubborn and ignorant President wants it to.  This is not a war but was an unjust and unwarranted invasion and occupation of another country.  We know there were no WMDs and no known terrorists or  terrorists training groups in Iraq.  We were sold a package of lies to make us feel better about these unjust actions.  Now we are there and it's a huge mess.  Our government hides the truth about how bad it is and just how many Iraqi people are killed on a daily basis.  I love my country and I admire  and respect the men and women that serve in our military.  But I don't think they should have ever been sent to Iraq which had nothing to do with 9/11.  The President talks about a new strategy in Iraq but it's still just the same, only more US military personnel in harms way.  I don't have the answers but we should not have to look for the answers because we never should have gone to Iraq.
