I went out for dinner tonight with Skot and Mike, it was a simple dinner at a local Mexican (mom & pop place) restaurant to celebrate 28 years.  Yes, Skot and Mike have been together for 28 years.  They started dating when Skot was 16 years old.  They have been through their good times and their bad times but after 28 years they still love each other and are still together.  They are for all practical purposes married even though there's no piece of paper to say so.  It's so funny because this what the Christian right is so afraid of?  Two men who love each other and are committed to each other.  They have been together longer than most straight couples I know.

On their 20th anniversary we had a party at local really nice upscale restaurant and then dancing at the attached club.  For their 25th Skot's mom rented a private dining room at a really nice country club on the gulf.  It was so nice and so special.  They created and printed a special menu and on the top of the menu was printed Congratulations on 25 years Skot and Mike.

I wish them many many more years of love and happiness together and look forward to a big celebration for their 30th.
