There is this Catholic church on the main drag of Ft. Myers Beach (San Carlos Island) that has a Neon Jesus in the large window facing the road.  The first time I saw it I almost ran off the road.  It was such an odd sight to see.  It was Jesus in a classic Jesus pose, white robe with outstretched arms, but he is big and glowing, he is the neon Jesus.  At first I thought it was really rather contemporary and odd, especially for this more conservative area.  I must say, however, that I really like the concept of the neon Jesus.  It's cool, it's different, it a bright shining neon Jesus.

A few years back Skot, Julia, Jeanie, and I went to Jeanie's mom's condo to decorate for Christmas for her.  She had a few things up already.  After we were all done Claire put out some cheese and crackers and other snacks and wine for us.  As we sat there Julia looks out the window and sees a lighted sign that read LEON.   She asks who is Leon and why is his illuminated sign in the window.  OK... it was a NOEL sign and she was reading the back side so leon is noel backwards.  She was so serious but it was so obvious to everyone else it was noel.  To this day I can't here the noel song without singing leon leon!
