Work & Holidays

I've been so busy working around the house.  I got the lanai painting done and the wicker furniture for the seating area painted black to match the dining furniture.  All 5 Christmas trees are up and the outside is done and all the other little holiday settings are set up.

I have not made regular updates this week.  I've been having problems with my ISP.  I have Road Runner cable Internet service and it was provided by Time Warner Cable but they sold to Comcast in this area and ever since the transition I get intermittent on line service.  Calling them is jumping through a bunch of hoops and a major pain and does not really resolve anything.

My family has asked me for a list of things I would like for Christmas.  We don't do a bunch of gifts or anything but my parents, brother, and sister and I exchange gifts among each other.  Then we do one additional gift in a gift exchange with my extended family (Aunt, Uncle, Cousins that came to Mexico) on Christmas Eve night.  My problem is that my list is like 5 items long.  I just don't really need or want anything.  There are some things I would love to have but a new car is a little too much to ask for.      They can't provide me with someone to date or even someone for a one night stand so I can't put that on my list.  So I told them just do what they want.  What ever it is I will enjoy it.

I have most of my shopping done but want to finish it up this week so I can ship it up north Friday.  I just need to get my brother and niece and nephews something.  I'm done with everything else for my family.  I have a few little things to pick up for some friends down here.  Even though I don't work with them any longer and have not for 2 (this will be the third) Christmas I have 3 ladies that we still get together when we can.  We still do an annual Christmas lunch at St. George and the Dragon.  It's this restaurant here that has been around forever.  It is totally dark inside and they completely deck it out for Christmas.  So we do a small gift exchange.  I look forward to it every year.  It's funny.  I have 2 other friends that I worked with there too and we are still such good friends.  I am still better friends with them than with any of the people I work with at my current company.  The only thing I miss about my old company is the people.  I worked with them for 7 years and we had and have great relationships.

Here are a couple of photos one of my tree in the living area and one on the lanai.  The living area is a blue/white/crystal tree and the one on the lanai is all butterflies.

Dan darling, your Christmas decorations are beautiful! I love how your tree looks in your snazzy blue tree.

But I have to fuss at you just a little bit

Your RSS feeds only give a small snippet of the actual post. So I have to click over to your blog to actually read your feeds.

It would be much easier if I could just read the whole message in my feed. You're an awfully special guy because I don't do that for just anyone

But you already know you're special.
