I have to cancel my trip to Mexico this weekend.  It turns out the last time I went (only a month ago) I brought something back with me.  It looks like I picked up some type of parasite and it is not fun. 
When I came back I had some stomach discomfort for about a week but I just thought it was like a flu or something.  It really lasted like 2 weeks and then went away.  Now it's back as of last night.  I just have a very uneasy feeling in my stomach and at times there are severe cramps that just make you want to fall over.  So, today I did something I only do when I have no choice and that was going to the doctor.   He prescribed a medication that when I worked at the zoo we gave to hove stock and reptiles to rid them of parasites.  I know that a lot of medications we take can also be given to animals but it just seems weird to be taking this one medication.  When I worked at the zoo we would fill many prescriptions at the local drug store for our animals.  Anyway, with the way I feel and the possible effects of the medication I figured I was better off to stay home this weekend.  I hope that tomorrow I at least start to feel better.
